♡Lush Christmas♡

Lush is a company whose products are spoken about a lot by bloggers, everyone is in love with their products and why wouldn't you be?! Everything that they sell is amazing but I thought I would give you guys a little more of an understanding as to why they are such a great company to support.

Lush have said again and again that they don't support animal testing whatsoever and it's great to see a company practice what they preach:
Not only is LUSH passionate about the animal testing policy, our passion also extends to the commitment we have to sourcing ingredients from suppliers that are congruent with our ethics and standards”.
All of their products are vegan as well, which ensures that no form of animal derived products were used and no animals were harmed in any part of the production process. Their products are made from ethically sourced ingredients, handmade fresh locally, their products help reduce landfill and they support grassroots charities!

They have had a countless amount of campaigns that show that they aren't afraid to make an impression as each campaign has been very 'in your face' and actually make an impact. An example of this is a campaign that they did a few years ago where they hired a female actor and in the window of their busiest store in London had someone treat her as if she was an animal undergoing animal testing. This received many positive and negative responses BUT at the end of the day it brought more attention to the issue and had  a lot more people signing petitions. They don't only have campaigns about issues relating to the use of animals in the beauty world but also for topics like marriage equality and asylum seekers.
I absolutely love Lush and I always look forward to their Christmas range. Here are some of their Christmas range products that I recommend.

Sandy Santa Scrub
This limited edition sugar scrub scrubs away dry skin and exfoliates to leave your skin silky-smooth and smelling gorgeous. This year Lush have added coconut oil and butters, such as murumuru and organic shea butter, which makes it more beneficial for you skin. It is scented with a combination of orange, rosewood, and sandalwood oils that not only give it it's beautiful scent but also hydrates the skin as you scrub. I have really dry skin so am careful when it comes to scented products and exfoliators but this actually works really well for my skin!

Father Christmas Bath Ballistic
This is an zesty smelling bath bomb has mandarin oil, bergamot oil and orange blossom absolute in it which, like all Lush products is really relaxing and beneficial for your body. When you drop him into your bathtub he turns the water from a brilliant red to a deep green and is great for the skin!

Star Light, Star Bright Bath Melt
This bath melt contains cocoa butter, extra virgin coconut oil, Chinese ginger oil, Persian lime oil, lavender oil and a fondant shea butter centre, meaning it is a super moisturising product that is really amazing on the skin and, of course, smells amazing too.
When the star slowly melts it leaves a silvery lustre across the water in a magical trail of starlight through turquoise coloured water. This is definitely one of my favourites because it's so much fun but isn't necessarily practical as the glitter stays on your skin!

Best Wishes Gift
The Best Wishes Gift was first created a few years ago and is deemed a "Christmas classic" as it includes some of Lush's most iconic Christmas products.
It contains a Luxury Lush Pud  which has the same fragrance as their Twilight bath bomb (which I love). It's made with lavender oil which is known to calm the mind and help with getting a good nights sleep.
It also includes the Golden Wonder Bath Bomb which smells of lime and sweet orange oils.
Lastly, it also has a Snowcake Soap bar which smells of marzipan, which is absolutely delicious and is always so tempting to eat!
All of these products are really moisturisng and cleansing for the skin.

Christmas Candy Box
This box is one of my absolute favourites!! All of the products in it are sweet and candy scented so it really does feel like you're using lollies in the bath and shower, if you or the person you're buying for isn't a fan of sweet scents then this isn't the gift box to buy.
It includes their Rockstar Soap which is really creamy and smells distinctly of vanilla, it's so lovely.
The Candy Mountain Bubble Bar is very fragrant with its matching vanilla scent and creates very fluffy  bubbles in the bath.
Their Popcorn Lip Scrub is sweet and salty and does a really good job at exfoliating lips and helps hydrate lips with the coconut and jojoba oils that it has in it.
Snow Fairy Shower Gel is extra fruity and sparkly with, yet again, a sweet vanilla scent that I find really comforting. You can wash both your body and your hair with it and is very moisturising.
Last, but not least, their Snowman Bath Bomb! It is infused with cocoa butter to make sure that  your skin stays soft and hydrated and the aroma is a 'blissful vanilla'.
I'm sensing a theme in this box...
What is your favourite Lush product or what is the next product on your list?

♡Christmas Presents for the Men in Your Life♡

Sometimes it can be extra hard buying gifts for the men in our lives, especially when they tell you that they don't want anything at all *eh hem dad this is directed at you*.
Here are just some ideas to get the creative juices flowing when it comes to present buying and of course these presents aren't gender specific. Good luck!

1. ASOS Laptop Case with Straps for those whose main companion is their trusty laptop. Perfect for those men who take their laptops on coffee dates.

2. New Look Dragon Claw Slippers are great for those warmer months, not only are they practical but they're also really cute!... Or should I say really cool.

3. Do you have a  man in your life who thinks he knows everything? Surprise him with the Mensa Genius Test

4. Han Solo Frozen Iphone Case for any of those Star Wars lovers in your life.

5. The Endless Edges Brownie Pan is perhaps one of the greatest things ever invented. Whatever will people come up with next?! Seriously, the thought of a batch of brownies that all have delicious edges is exciting. I'm sure any man in your life will think the same thing.

6. The Viewable Root Garden is really cool, it's a unique way to display whatever produce someone chooses to grow - it's great for anyone out there with a green thumb!

7. Stereo Turntable with Built in Speakers - music lovers will love you for this one and will definitely be impressed. One of the best sounds is music playing from a record, you could possibly buy them a few records to go with it.

8. Does it take a lot of effort to get a man in your life up in the morning? The Defusable Bomb Alarm Clock makes that task a little more exciting.

♡Bracelet Review/Christmas Present Idea!♡

I've been meaning to write this for a some time now but a little while ago I won a bracelet from Steph, who is a wonderful woman that I first came across through her tumblr, which I love, then her instagram and finally her etsy.

I am a massive fan of jewellery, I decorate myself as much as possible. A 'minimum jewellery day' for me is my 12 rings that I wear, earrings, my two necklaces that I never take off and the braided bracelets, or friendship bracelets, that I also never take off.

I was so excited to win a braided bracelet from Steph, it meant adding another to my collection. They're all so unique with cute little charms and gorgeous colours, I've got to say I am obsessed!

Steph is so lovely and even asked me what bracelet I wanted but in the end she sent me one that wasn't even stocked in her store, a bracelet with a lovely little elephant! I am in love with it as elephants are one of my favourite animals and remind me of my trips overseas. It also features some of my favourite colours, pink and purple. I have a tiny wrist but it ties up on my wrist perfectly and is really well made. It arrived in the mail really quickly, with a really sweet card and a business card that has Jimi Hendrix on it. Honestly, I could go on forever about how much I love it. I think I have a little bit of a girl crush developing.

I definitely think that a bracelet from Steph would be an amazing Christmas present for someone, they are so thoughtful and affordable as well! You should all definitely give her etsy a look, you won't be disappointed. Thanks Steph! xx
*I spilt a tiny bit of water on the card, my bad! Also, please ignore my terrible nails*

♡Slut Shaming♡

An issue that has been around for a while now that always makes me frustrated is slut shaming. It's not just the ignorant that tend to do it either - I know so many pro-feminist women who have many a bad thing to say about a woman's choices which is ridiculous because there are so many people out there, especially the patriarchal society that we live in, that limits our choices as women and shame us for making choices that they don't approve of themselves.

So for those that don't know what slut shaming is, it is when people judge women for having sex with "too many people", having sex with people that "aren't their partner" and even for wearing particular things or acting a particular way. When it comes to costumes, clothing, and sexual behavior, women are judged by a very different rubric than men. This is not to say that men are't judged at all, because of course they are to some degree but if a woman is to have a lot of sex people label her as a "whore", “dirty”, "slut", etc and many people believe that women with these labels don't deserve to be treated with respect and they also believe that this means they can say whatever they want about that woman or to that woman.

Obvisouly when it comes to men some people may use the terms “manslut” or “manwhore” but the consequences for the  man being called these things are not nearly as extreme and they are not disrespected nearly as much as women who are called similar names. He won’t be degraded, bullied, or have lies and rumours spread about him and his reputation won’t be destroyed in response because I mean, c'mon, that's just what men do right? They can't and shouldn't control their urges, right? They're just sex crazy right? No no no no no. Patriarchy is damaging to men as well as women because of these ideas.

Slut shaming is another way of controlling women and telling them what they are and are not allowed to do. Women who slut shame each other is an example of internalised sexism which is harmful when it comes to women's relationships with each other. After all, women are in this together and instead should be helping each other instead of harming each other.
Slut shaming pits women against each other and creates a divide. Instead of building women up and cultivating healthy friendships, slut shame turns women against each other so that the slut-shamer can prove she’s “not like that” and therefore worthy of respect.  It puts women into harmful categories based on nothing more than how someone dresses or is perceived by others.

It also limits women's freedoms and choices because if a woman "breaks the rules" in regards to how you or society believes, for some bizarre reason, they have to dress and have to behave then you are basically saying that they don't have the same rights as men and cannot do what they want unless they want to "pay the price".

An alarming fact is that because people see “sluts” as unworthy of respect, people believe that they are therefore not entitled to say no.  In this mentality, “sluts” become a target of harassment, assault, and even rape.  After the violence, the woman is occasionally blamed for it.  After all, she was just a dumb slut….she asked for it, right?

I am interested to hear what you guys think!
Lots of love,

♡MAC Lipstick Reviews♡

Sorry again for being a bit MIA, my schedule has been pretty busy but I have now finished uni for the year (Woo! Still can't believe my first year is over!) and so I should have a bit more time on my hands, which means, fingers crossed, my posts will become a bit more regular.

It was my birthday at the beginning of October and two presents that I received, that I had been wanting for a long time, were MAC lipsticks. I have always wanted a bullet to call my own and finally that dream became a reality! For ages I had been trying to limit it down to the two that I wanted the most after lots of research - of course there are still many other colours that I am wanting.

I first decided to pick a shade that I can wear everyday if I want, one that is more natural. This is where Creme in Your Coffee comes in.
It is just a few shades darker than neutral which means it is very natural looking on the lip; it's a beautiful, warm brown with a slight mauve undertone. The finish is Cremesheen and the pigmentation is amazing - the creamy texture of the lipstick lives up to the name of the colour!  Since it is Cremesheen, it melts in extreme hot weather so I would not recommend carrying it with you in warmer weather, this aside, it doesn't bleed on the lips. It feels very comfortable and is definitely hydrating. Due to the creamy formula it doesn't always last long on the lips, particularly if you are drinking from a water bottle, but does last 3-4 hours and glides on when you apply.

When deciding on the other lipstick I wanted a unique shade that I could wear on nights out, something a bit more special that would stand out so I decided on Up the Amp!
The colour is described on the MAC website as a "lavender violet", which I believe is a great way to describe it. It is violet in colour as it is a blue-toned purple and it has a hint of lavender that lightens it up and brings a milkiness to the color. The colour really does look different on different skin colours as well, as this shade looks slightly different on all of my friends.
This shade is one of the Amplified formulas which means it is very pigmented and glides on smooth, creamy and the colour is opaque. It is great at keeping lips feeling soft and moisturised. Personally it is one of my favourite MAC colours and lasts a whole night out on the lips without needing to reapply.
Both lipsticks have MAC's signature vanilla scent, which is absolutely delicious!

What are your favourite MAC lipsticks or colours that you are wanting to try?

♡Boobs♡

Sorry for the delayed post but I've been fairly busy:

♡ Finishing a major final assignment for uni
♡ Picking up extra shifts for work
♡ Working at an internship I was recently offered
♡ Procrastinating from studying A LOT

I have my final exam next week and after that I will be able to post a LOT more, yay! All that aside, I'm back and there's something that I wrote a little while ago that I wanted to share with you guys! It's something that I believe strongly about too.
Boobs. Breasts. Tits. Mammaries – many women have them, whatever you like to call them and there is an everlasting debate over them, the debate over natural vs. unnatural.
Personally when I think of plastic surgery and breast enhancements I just think “You go for it gurl! As long as it is your own decision, you’re not being pressured into it and it’s not to make anyone else happy but yourself… Heck! If it’s to make someone else happy that’s ok too, as long as you’re not being persuaded by someone else and it is still your own decision at the end of the day!”
I know many people disagree with this opinion, one of them being my mum, but just hear me out for a second. A few weeks ago my mum and I were watching Big Brother (don’t judge me, I’m a people watcher, I find them interesting) and one of the female intruders once had an operation to have her boobs enlarged a couple of sizes. When the contestants were discussing it my mum said, “Hang on, is she meant to be the smart one?”
‘Yeah, she’s the lawyer,” I replied.
“Well she’s not very smart if she did that then!”
I paused for a second after hearing this. Did my mother, the strong feminist, hardworking, intelligent, kind, compassionate and beautiful woman just say that?
“Mum, just because she got a boob job doesn’t mean she isn’t smart.”
I was shocked to hear that come from her mouth, one of my earliest memories was her teaching me about feminism and gender equality at the tender age of four.
“She’s simply morphing into the unrealistic standards of women’s bodies that society and men have. She’s feeding the problem!”
I mulled her words over for a bit and realised that we both have grown up in completely different eras of feminism. My mother was a young woman in the 70s, when many women said “Screw you!” to the patriarchy and refused to conform to the norm as they did not shave and burnt their bras. This was in comparison to me, who as a feminist and as a human being believes that women should be able to do whatever they want as long as they are not hurting themselves or anyone else. I believe that this new wave of feminists mainly hold the idea that women can do what they want when they want. There are already enough people in the world policing our bodies, us as women don’t need to be doing it as well. We need to stick together and be supportive of one another, whatever our decisions may be, even if we don’t agree with them.
The world is changing and our views need to change along with it. Although I understand what my mum meant and where she was coming from, I didn’t agree with it. Our discussion just showed our differences in regards to feminism. People are already not accepting enough of others as it is, we should not be adding to the problem.

No matter what shape or size we are or how we identify ourselves, no matter what our skin colour is or no matter what our appearance may be, we all deserve to be treated as equals, fake boobs or no fake boobs.
I am interested in what you think on this topic too guys! Do you disagree/agree? Why or why not?
Next post we will be back with regular programming. I have a few posts in the works too for you guys to look forward to such as a Mac lipstick review, a post about slut shaming, a review for a bracelet from Etsy and a post on why I chose to go Vegan, just to name a few.
I hope you're all well!

♡Necklace Review and Etsy Stores♡

I ordered a necklace off of Etsy roughly two or three months ago and have been waiting patiently (ok that's a lie, I am nowhere near patient when it comes to ordering things online) for the small parcel to arrive. After contacting the shop owner it turns out she was away for a little while and then it just took her a while to send it off. I can now happily say that the day of its arrival is here!
I ordered off Cherye Leah's store Midnight Leah and since trying to visit her store after receiving the necklace it seems as if the store itself has gone, which is disappointing because I wanted to show you guys more of her things! Hopefully she'll have it up and running again soon.
The necklace is called Triple Chain Hand of Fatima and as you can see it has three chains, it is homemade and has a variety of charms and beads. The Hand of Fatima, or Hamsa, is an ancient talisman for protection against the evil eye, which is a curse traditionally believed to befall a person who is the target of negativity in the form of jealousy, envy or hatred. If it is worn as an amulet it is thought that the Hand of Fatima offers protection and blessing and the wearer will receive luck, vitality and will find the favour of benevolent forces as well as sheltering the wearer from obstacles, adversity and helping the person turn their fate into destiny. The symbol is sacred in many cultures and religions including Judaism, Buddhism, Shamanism, Hinduism, Christianity, Jainism and Islamic Belief.
Opening up the parcel it was tucked away in a cute golden draw-string bag. To be honest, I was not expecting the cross symbols on the necklace but nevertheless I am still in love with the necklace. I want to wear it as soon as possible, not including wearing it for the photo above, but I am trying to determine how delicate it is because of all the beads, charms and links as I have a feeling it may tangle and get caught easily.
There's only one way to find that out though! I think I may wear it as part of my Halloween costume.

Here are some other Etsy jewellery stores I have come across that I can't wait to buy things from:
Galisfly: Galisfly sell a lot of unique and simple rings, they have so much variety! I think it's a great place to go if you're looking for knuckle rings and affordable jewellery.
Cleopatra's Bling: Cleopatra's Bling's jewellery are inspired by Turkey and India and focus a lot on the use of crystals and precious stones. Their jewellery is very bohemian and beautiful.
Earthshine: Earthshine sell a variety of rings, necklaces, bracelets and cuffs, just to name a few. Their products are very cosmic and they use a lot of moons and stars which I absolutely love!
I am going to a uni party on the night of Halloween, I'm so excited, I have always loved Halloween. I hope you guys have an extra spooky night! Also, what are your favourite Etsy stores if you have any? Do you like the look of the ones I have mentioned?

♡Shopping Haul♡

Hey guys!! So it's my birthday today (nineteen!!! wah!) and I have been so busy the last couple of days doing things to celebrate so there are a couple of posts coming up explaining what I have been up to that's kept me so busy as well as what I got for my birthday, so stay tuned for those!
A couple of days before my birthday though I went shopping with two of my friends to spoil myself a bit for my birthday. This is my haul!
Firsty we went to a large shopping centre and I bought the following from a shop called Factorie:
I really really love this playsuit. They've been in style for a while but always thought that it wouldn't flatter my shape, boy was I wrong! It elongates your legs and compliments everyone's body shape. I am seriously in love with this, it's really light weight and comfy and it's great for me to wear to uni because my campus is really windy and this doesn't blow up. I love the colours, the turquoise, pink and purple that you can see. It's perfect for summer!

I've always wanted jelly sandals since I was about eight when my best friend used to always wear them when we went swimming in beaches that had oyster shells on the rocks so that she wouldn't get cuts. I got the clear ones with glitter and they look a bit purple under light which you can see here. It's really hard to get a photo of them though so sorry about the terrible photo quality!

These shorts are a dark navy blue, high wasted and have a bow detail on the back. These are really great for summer too as they are lightweight and super comfy. They are also really flattering for my body shape. Due to the fact that they flow at the end I found that they look best if you pair them with a tight fitting top.

I bought these shoes from a shop called Dotti. I've wanted the pair from Wittner for a long long time but have never been able to allow myself to part with so much money for a pair of shoes and they've always been out of stock. They were hard to get a good photo of so I used a google image here. I wore them with the playsuit when I went out the other night. They're unbelievably comfy and I love them!

Lastly, we went into the city and went to topshop:
This top was on sale so was only $16! It's cropped with lace detail on the area of the collar bone and also at the sleeves, which are 3/4 length. It then has beaded and sequined detail in the centre of the top which looks really nice as it's not overdone and too 'blingy' - it was really hard to get a photo of though. The top doesn't cling to your body and sits off your shape.

This bag  was a bit expensive by my standards, $65, but definitely worth it! It has a lot of space and is perfect for uni as it seems to be really sturdy and the straps are adjustable and I also think that it is also very versatile. It's both really practical and beautiful.

This was bought from a pop-up store in a shopping centre in the city which I can't remember the name of. I am absolutely in love with this playsuit! I am smaller on my top than my bottom half so had to order this the size I would wear on my bottom which means that it's a bit too big for me at the top but nothing that some tape can't fix! I don't ever wear something that shows as much skin as this does but both of my friends loved me in it and wouldn't let me leave without buying it. Luckily they did because I wore it out the other night for a night out for my birthday and it was just so much fun! I am absolutely in love with daisies as well so that was a massive plus.

So my next post will be about what I did to celebrate my birthday and then the next post will be about what I got for my birthday today/a review of some of the products. So keep your eyes open!
Lots of love

♡Wantable Beauty Box - Review Part Two♡

Hi again guys! Welcome to October, my favourite month! So as promised today I am going to show you guys what I received from the Wantable Accessories box that I ordered last month.
Their communication was really good, they emailed me when they were shipping it as they ship the boxes at a particular time of the month and gave me a link so that I could track it. I received the box a lot sooner than I expected, after they sent me the email telling me that it was on its way I received the box in a weeks time.
Here is what the box looked like:
It was a lot smaller and a lot lighter than I expected.

I thought that the message on the side was really cute, sorry about my terrible nails!
Everything was protected really well inside, as it was all stored between two big pieces of storage foam and each piece of jewellery was individually stored. It also came with a sheet of paper with the details of my purchase. On it it said what my preferences were when I did the quiz when ordering my products and a reminder that I will never receive products that I have put into the dislike category. It also had the following message:
This month our boxes are packed to the brim with style! You'll find edgy metallics in the form of watches, architectural cuffs, chic rings, and trendy earrings. Stunning jewel tones are paired with vintage-inspired designs in drop-earrings, statement necklaces, and bold bracelets. We've also combined whimsical pieces with chic styling for unique pieces that you'll love to add to your collection. Everyone's unique so try combining pieces for a look all your own: pair necklaces of different lengths ad don't be afraid to mix metals and colours. Pile on a mix of modern and vintage-inspired pieces for a nod to the past while still looking perfectly on trend.

Here is what I received:
Kendyl Earrings
Retail Price - $28
"The Kendyl Earrings are certainly not for the faint of heart! These dramatic drop earrings feature three tiers of silvery, featherlike details. Style tip: These beauties will definitely make a statement. To tone them down , wear your hair down and complement them with a bold red lip."
These are my favourite piece that I received! I've already worn them a kazillion times and am just in love with them. I love dramatic earrings and these are definitely my style so I am really happy with these.
Gelsey Necklace
Retail Price - $28
"The Gelsey is a delicate mixed metal necklace that will give you the perfect unique look! Style tip: Wear this neutral toned necklace with a bold blouse for a great colour combo!"
I've got to admit that I haven't actually worn this yet. I like the necklace as I think it's extremely unique and interesting but I haven't really worn anything as of yet that I think would complement the necklace but I am really eager to try it out! It's not 100% my style but hey, I am definitely willing to give it a go.
 Johnnie Bracelet - Gold
Retail Price - $24
"The Johnnie Bracelet has fun bicycle chain links! Style Tip: Perfect for layering!"
When I pulled this out of the box I have to say I was a bit disappointed, just because I am not always the biggest fan of gold but then after a little while it grew on me. It is definitely a unique piece of jewellery and I think that the links are really cool. I have really skinny wrists so it's hard for me to wear bracelets sometimes so I will definitely be layering this one.
So that's everything I received! I think I will try ordering the box again one day but next time I will try out the make up box. This was definitely lots of fun to do as I was interested as to see what they would put together for me and considering the retail prices of the jewellery it was worth the money. This idea is definitely fun to do ever so often but personally I wouldn't subscribe for once a month as I would prefer to have more control over the jewellery purchases I make on a regular basis.
What do you guys think of the pieces?
